Vistalba

Carlos Pulenta’s winery in Vistalba, built in 2002 on 60 hectares of vines over 50 years old, with a boutique inn on site.

About This Winery

Vistalba Winery is at Roque Sáenz Peña 3531 in the Vistalba district of Luján de Cuyo. Carlos Pulenta built it in 2002 on an estate of nearly 60 hectares, most of it planted with vines that are over 50 years old.

The architecture is one of the first things you notice. The winery was designed with attention to detail, and the grounds are well kept. There’s also a small boutique inn on the property with views of the Andes, which makes it a good option if you want to stay close to the vineyards.

Their wines are produced under the Vistalba, Tomero and Progenie labels. The Vistalba Corte A and Corte B are their top blends. Tomero is their more accessible line and a good starting point for tasting.

Visits include a tour of the winery and a tasting session. The setting is calm and the pace is relaxed. It’s a mid-sized operation, not as big as Catena or Norton, but more polished than the smallest family cellars.

The winery is in the Vistalba district, about 20 minutes from Mendoza city center. We include it in our Luján de Cuyo wine tours.
