Terrazas de los Andes

A restored 1898 Spanish-style winery in Perdriel with a guest house, restaurant and wines based on high-elevation vineyard research.

About This Winery

Terrazas de los Andes is at Thames y Cochabamba s/n, Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo. The current winery opened in 1999 inside a restored Spanish-style building originally established in 1898. It sits facing the Cordón del Plata, right in the middle of Perdriel’s best red grape territory.

The winery’s approach is built on 45 years of research into how elevation affects grape character in Mendoza. Each varietal is matched to an altitude: Malbec at one level, Cabernet at another, Chardonnay higher up. The results are wines that tend to be precise and well-defined. Terrazas Reserva Malbec is widely available and consistently good. The Single Vineyard and Grand lines push things further.

Near the winery there’s a guest house with six rooms, each named after a grape varietal. They also serve lunch and offer special tastings. It’s a comfortable setup if you want to spend a longer time in the area.

Perdriel is about 30 minutes south of Mendoza city. We include Terrazas de los Andes in our Luján de Cuyo wine tours.
