Melipal is on Ruta 7 km 1.056, Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo. The Aristi family has been working this land for generations. It’s one of those wineries where the connection between the family and the soil is the central story, not the architecture or the brand.
They produce Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from their estate vineyards in Agrelo. The wines lean toward a terroir-driven style, with the kind of minerality and structure that comes from the stony, alluvial soils in this part of Luján de Cuyo. Production is limited.
The visit is low-key. You get a walk through the vineyard and cellar, followed by a tasting. It’s not a big tourist setup, which is part of the appeal. If you want to see how a family winery works day to day, Melipal is a good stop.
Agrelo is about 25 minutes south of Mendoza city. We include Melipal in our Luján de Cuyo wine tours.
