Séptima is on RN 7 km 6.5, Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo. It was the seventh winery in the Spanish Codorniu Group, which is where the name comes from. It was also the first to set up in what’s now a busy wine corridor west of Luján de Cuyo, on the road toward Chile.
The building is worth noting. It was constructed with local materials: stone stacked in a traditional style, and paints colored with minerals from the area. Inside, there’s a mix of virtual art installations and a large terrace with views of the vineyards and the Andes. The restaurant serves good food with wine pairing.
Their wines cover a range from entry to premium. The Séptima Gran Reserva Malbec is their top red. They also produce a solid Cabernet Sauvignon and some interesting blends.
Agrelo is about 30 minutes from Mendoza city. We include Séptima in our Luján de Cuyo wine tours.
