Domaine St. Diego is at Franklin Villanueva 3821, Lunlunta, Maipú. It’s the personal project of Angel Mendoza, a winemaker who’s been in the industry since the 1980s. This is a micro operation, and the production runs are small. The wines are made in limited batches, originally intended for friends and people who appreciate the craft.
The winery is in Lunlunta, a quiet area just a few minutes from the city of Mendoza. Visiting feels more like dropping by someone’s home than going to a commercial winery. Angel is usually around, and the conversation tends to go beyond tasting notes into the history and culture of winemaking in Maipú.
If you’re interested in small-scale, handmade wines from a veteran winemaker, this is one of the more authentic stops in the region.
We include Domaine St. Diego in our Maipú wine tours.
