Diplomatic Hotel is at Belgrano 1041, in one of the quieter residential areas of Mendoza city. The building has 19 floors and 178 rooms, and the views of the Andes and the city are good from most of them.
The restaurant, La Bourgogne, is run by a well-known kitchen and the food is a step above typical hotel dining. There’s also a pool, solarium, sauna and health club.
The hotel positions itself at the luxury end. The rooms are well finished, the common areas are spacious, and the service is attentive. It’s a bit removed from the noisier commercial center, which is either a plus or a minus depending on what you’re after.
Good base for wine tours. Downtown Mendoza restaurants are a short cab ride away, and our drivers pick up here for day trips to the wineries.
